
Seattle-based digital financial services firm Remitly hired Vikas Mehta as its new chief financial officer, the company announced Wednesday.
Mehta was most recently CFO of Komodo Health and held the same role at Anaplan and Nike Direct. He also worked in finance leadership roles at Walmart and Microsoft, and is a board member at Seattle logistics startup Flexe.
He’ll replace Hemanth Munipalli, who held the role since July 2022 and is leaving for family reasons. Metha will start Aug. 19.
Remitly’s revenue grew by 31% to $306.4 million in the second quarter, the company reported Wednesday, while net losses came in at $12.1 million, down from $18.9 million in the year ago period. Remitly shares were up more than 3% in after-hours trading.
— In another CFO shuffle, Seattle-based application delivery giant F5 announced this week that CFO Frank Pelzer will retire in the fourth quarter of this year. F5 intends to replace Pelzer with Edward Werner, the company’s current senior vice president of finance. Pelzer joined F5 in 2018 from SAP.
— DoorDash hired former Amazon and Flexport logistics leader Parisa Sadrzadeh as its new vice president of strategy and operations. Sadrzadeh spent more than 11 years at Amazon in various delivery-related roles before joining Flexport in late 2022 as an executive vice president. The Information first reported the news.
— Boeing says its next CEO and president will be Kelly Ortberg, a 64-year-old aerospace executive who previously held the CEO post at Rockwell Collins, now a subsidiary of RTX. Ortberg will reportedly be based in Seattle. Read more.
— Former Amazon leader Ben Spencer joined Seattle-based home maintenance startup Para Home Services as its new CEO. Spencer spent a decade at Amazon before joining A.P. Moller in March 2023.
— Seattle marketing vet Emily Carrion joned Entrepreneurs’ Organization as its new chief marketing officer. Carrion held marketing leadership roles at Seattle startups including PartnerTap, Esper, Textio, Rubica, and Apptentive. Longtime Seattle startup advisor Dave Parker recently became CEO of EO.
— Former Zillow senior economist Jeff Tucker joined Windermere Real Estate as principal economist. Tucker was most recently a financial economist at AirDNA.
— Seattle tourism group Visit Seattle hired Stephanie Byington as senior vice president and chief marketing officer. Byington previously worked at Slalom and Nordstrom.
